BAEP (Buena arquitectura, excelente pedagogia) was a public architecture competition for the design of the prototypes comprises the educational infraestructure of the country.
During 2010 and 2011 because of "La Niña Phenomenon" more than 3.300 schools nationwide were damaged. This situation compromises the education of thousands of children who require an efficient and practical architecture solutions that strenghten academic dynamic national education project.
REVIEW:
In the emergency caused by "the winter wave", we propose a project that seeks to go beyond the solutions. Serial architecture that is characterized by address in a versatile, simple and efficent way the following: transportation, instalation and construction, well adapted to the culture, climate, topography and needs of each region.
The project takes as its starting point the need to configure the architecture from academy educational thought. The architectural space as a teaching strategy.
Taking advantage that the most national territory has wood as an accessible, renewable capacity, and low co2 footprint, this material is taken as the main element in the construction of prototypes. Thus, the different needs of climate, ventilation, lighting, desolation, noise and temperature control of each site determines the final facade shape.
In practical terms, the system is formed from modules os 1.8m maximizing compatibility with standard materials measurements. The construction system is divided into two parts, a simple frame structure and panels system, everything formed from prefabricated elements, ensurring easy transportation of inputs and a constructive process of mass production, simple, cheap, easy to build, lightweight, fast and especially feasible and realistic.
