The design of the park is based on a clear position that seeks to protect, shelter and exalt the fauna and flora of the place through a multisensory experience that is lived through multiple visual perspectives, textures, smells and sounds. The different paths resemble meandering plains, the trails flow like water flows. The route transcribes the sinuosity of the flow and movement of the water to integrate with the topographical conditions of the place. The proposal establishes two hierarchical axes that trace a centuries-old ecological connection in the territory.

Inside the park and deriving from that main structure, there are 2 types of routes: universal accessibility and  trails of greater difficulty. From this main structure, several components are derived that are a sample of the ecosystem of the region:  The first section is where the current waterfall is located, due to its topographical conditions, it concentrates a large amount of humidity. The second section is where we see the greatest erosion of the land, the result of the sinuosity of the water. The third section is where the pipe has the greatest sinuosity. The fourth section is where it meets the transverse axis, which becomes a viewpoint.  The fifth section is where the three pipes that run through the park meet.


Likewise, as a complement to the main axes of urban connection, a semi-perimeter route is planned that, in the form of a circuit, connects the 3 pipes. Along this there are 4 points of interest for local flora and fauna: 1) The butterfly garden, 2) and 3) Rain gardens, 4) Outdoor amphitheater.

The project was motivated by the search for technical, formal and social solutions that would allow interaction with the environment. It was not about including nature in the project but, on the contrary, including architecture in nature, based on local experience as an input of experience and knowledge. This leads to understand and explain the use of local materials that have less environmental impact, the use of ventilation and natural lighting that reduce energy consumption. The project interprets and values ​​the starting conditions and current state of the space, and seeks to achieve the correct linking of the immediate urban activities and in the same way to sew the city environmentally, urban and socially with the project.


The palette of materials is varied according to the different situations that arise inside the park. Always selecting durable materials that resist the intensity of the region's climate. In soils, materials that are friendly to the environment were sought, such as river ball stone (very common in the region) and gravel of different thicknesses. The selected materials allow a sustainability in the time of the operation of the park.
